Okay but maybe the boyfriend has a point? It's easy to just laugh at the weird lines and the football tossing, like jade3 said. But if you watch it straight, the story is actually a super sad drama about a guy getting betrayed by everyone. The delivery is just so bad it becomes funny. Maybe it's meant to be a serious tragedy that totally missed the mark.
