Rant: The Before and After of Watching 'The Room' Is a 3-Day Mood Swing
I finally watched 'The Room' last Saturday night and the first hour was a painful slog of bad acting and random football tosses. But when I hit that rooftop scene with Tommy Wiseau screaming, something clicked and I was laughing so hard I woke up my roommate in the next room. Has anyone else had a movie flip from pure cringe to hilarious gold halfway through?

Wait, did you say the rooftop scene was when it clicked for you? I thought that was supposed to be a balcony, not a rooftop. Anyway, that moment you're talking about is exactly where the movie goes from bad to hilarious for most people. It's like your brain finally gives up trying to take it seriously and just surrenders to the absurdity. I've had a few other movies do that same trick, where the first half is rough and then something just breaks the seal and you're all in on the joke.

Totally agree! The second half flip is always the best part.

Same thing happened to me with Showgirls actually. First hour I was like "what is this garbage" but by the time the pool scene hit I was losing my mind laughing (in a good way). There's something about movies that are so bad they break your brain and then just become comedy gold.
