PSA: Don't trust the run time on those old MST3K VHS tapes

I popped in a tape of "The Final Sacrifice" from my collection last Saturday and it took me 45 minutes to realize I was watching a heavily edited TV recording, not the full movie. The commercial breaks were cut out but so was like 20 minutes of actual riffing. Had to dig through three different boxes before I found an unmarked copy that ran the full 92 minutes. Anyone else ever waste a whole evening on a cropped version of a bad movie?

Ugh, I actually LIKE the chopped versions sometimes! The pacing feels tighter and honestly some of those movies are SO boring that cutting 20 minutes of dead air makes them way more watchable. But yeah, I get why that would be super annoying if you were expecting the full thing.

Chopped versions: turning three hours of plot holes into just two.
