Pro tip: watch bad movies at 1.25x speed and thank me later
I almost gave up on bad movie nights because 90 minutes of slow talking and dead air was killing the fun, not making it. Last Friday I tried bumping playback to 1.25x on a whim and it changed everything. The acting weirdness hits faster, the bad line reads land back to back, and the whole thing feels like a highlight reel instead of a slog. My buddy Dave laughed so hard at a chase scene that he spilled his soda on my rug, and he had seen that same movie twice before without cracking a smile. It does not work for everything though, musicals and anything with quick cuts get messy, so I keep it at normal speed for those. Anyone else mess with speed settings, or am I the only one cheating?
Gotta disagree with you here (and I know that makes me the weird one). Half the fun of a bad movie is sitting in the slow, awful silence and letting it get awkward, speeding it up just turns it into a highlight reel and you lose the cringe. Dave spilling his soda is funny but that's a different kind of fun than the slow burn.
