My kid picked the movie last Friday and I finally get why bad movies are fun
Last Friday my 11 year old got to pick the family movie and she grabbed a DVD from the $2 bin at a garage sale in Mesa, some 2007 shark movie with a 3.1 on IMDb. About 20 minutes in we noticed the same extra walking past in the background in two different scenes, and my wife started keeping a tally on a napkin. By the end we had 14 continuity goofs and nobody had looked at their phone once. We've done this every Friday for a month now, so what's your go to for a crowd that talks the whole time?
My brother in law told me about some site that tracks goofs in movies, people just log them for fun. Turns out half the stuff we laugh at was already caught by somebody in 2009. Doesn't matter though, spotting them yourself hits different. We do the same thing with old Godzilla movies, the dubbing is so bad we just make up new lines over it. Crowd that talks the whole time needs something to talk about, so bad dialogue is perfect for that. Give me a movie where the shark is clearly a rubber tube any day over some polished thing nobody remembers.
