I dropped $40 on a DVD of 'The Room' for our movie night

Honestly, I thought it would be a funny joke gift for our bad movie club. We popped it in, and the acting was so weird it made us all stop talking. The plot made zero sense, and we spent the whole time yelling at the screen. Has anyone else found a movie that's so bad it just kills the vibe instead of making it fun?

Kills the vibe" is exactly why I stopped forcing bad movie nights.

What was it about those nights that made them feel forced in the first place? I've found the group's mood matters more than the movie's quality. Did people just not want to be there, or was it the wrong kind of bad movie? Getting that balance wrong can ruin the whole evening.

@xena_miller31 has a good point about the group's mood really being the key. For me, "The Room" works better when everyone's already loose and ready to laugh at anything, not when they're judging it hard from the jump. Try swapping to something that's bad in a way people can roast together, like a cheesy 80s action flick with terrible special effects.
