Found a hack for bad movies with friends: pick the shortest runtime first

Last month at my place I grabbed "The Amazing Bulk" (yeah, that direct rip-off) and it's only 72 minutes so even if it's unbearable we weren't stuck for hours, plus it set the bar so low everything after felt like a masterpiece - does anyone else plan the order like this?

The runtime trick is solid but you gotta take it one step further. I usually pair the shortest movie with something completely different in tone, like a slapstick comedy right after a bad horror movie. That way the contrast makes the second one feel fresh even if it's mediocre. Also helps if you pre-load everyone with snacks during the first one so they're distracted by the badness.

The Amazing Bulk" sets the bar so low even a slideshow would feel like Oscar bait.
