Changed my mind on MST3K-style riffing after watching "The Room" with my cousin
I used to hate watching bad movies with people talking over them. Figured it ruined the whole experience. Then my cousin made me sit through "The Room" last Friday and she did these perfect funny comments the whole time. It actually made the 2 hours fly by and I laughed way more than I expected. Has anyone else found a specific movie or person that changed how you watch bad films?

My buddy Dave once dragged me to a midnight showing of "Birdemic" and I thought I'd hate every second. Some guy in the front row kept doing these spot-on impressions of the birds every time they showed up on screen. By the third time it happened half the theater was in tears laughing. That movie is still the worst thing I've ever seen but I'd watch it again just to have that experience. It's weird how one person's dumb joke can completely save a terrible film.

Yeah that's pretty much the secret right there. You need the right person doing it or it just feels like someone being annoying instead of funny. My buddy has this knack for pointing out the weirdest background details in bad movies and it completely changes the whole experience.
