Three weeks to figure out a red dot sight, of all things
I got a cheap red dot sight for my binoculars last month thinking it would take one evening to line up. Nope. Turns out the mount I bought in Columbus had a screw that kept slipping, and I spent two weekends re-tightening it before I realized the base was slightly warped. Then I had to re-zero the thing after dark, which meant aimless fiddling with my neighbor's fence post as a reference. It took me 21 days total, with a few clear nights wasted, to finally get Jupiter in the same view as the dot. Anyone else burn way too long on a simple accessory setup, or is it just me and my luck with bargain gear?

Took me longer to mount my trail cam than to actually find anything on it.
