My focuser knob snapped off mid-session and I just stood there in the dark
Was out in the driveway Tuesday night around 10pm lining up Saturn with my old 6 inch dob, and the cheap plastic focuser knob just snapped right off in my fingers. No warning, no crack, just a clean break and a tube that won't come into focus. I ended up holding the knobless shaft with pliers wrapped in a dish towel, which worked okay but felt ridiculous. Anyone know if the metal knob upgrade is worth the hassle on these, or should I just glue it and stop grabbing it like a gorilla?
