I used to think star charts were for old folks...
My neighbor brought over his laminated S&T Pocket Sky Atlas last week and I laughed at first, but then I actually tried finding M13 in Hercules with it instead of my phone app... suddenly the whole sky made more sense and I saw three globular clusters in one night. Has anyone else ditched their phone for paper charts and felt like they actually learned the stars better?

You ever look back at something you were dead wrong about and just shake your head? That was me with star charts too. I used to think they were some kind of old school hipster flex, but after a cloudy night killed my phone battery, I grabbed a friend's chart and actually started seeing things I'd missed for months. Now I keep a laminated one in my backpack and honestly I learn the constellations way faster without a screen glowing in my face. It's like the difference between reading a recipe and having someone walk you through it step by step.
