I finally gave up on my old star chart after the Perseids last August and just use a free app now.

I spent 20 minutes trying to find Andromeda with my laminated chart in the dark, but my phone pointed it out in 5 seconds, so what's the best app that doesn't ruin your night vision?

Totally agree, "feels more real" is exactly it, like having solid proof in your hands.

Totally get that, @reese_singh87! I read somewhere that the physical feel of laminated paper helps your brain focus better than a screen. It just makes the info stick in your head more, lol.
