Discovered my phone camera can actually catch the Milky Way

Was out in my backyard near Flagstaff last Tuesday. Just held my phone up to my 6 inch dob eyepiece. Got a fuzzy but real shot of the Milky Way core. Anyone else had luck with phone astrophotography without a special mount?

Whoa, hold up a second. I mean I'm glad you got something but a phone camera through a dob eyepiece isn't really capturing the Milky Way, it's capturing a blurry light blob that your brain is interpreting as the core. Without a tracking mount or some serious stacking software on the phone, you're just getting a messy out of focus shot that's probably 90 percent light pollution and 10 percent actual detail.

Oh man, my buddy tried this and ended up with a photo that looked like a dirty water glass.
