Clear night, and my red light gives up on me

I just learned to use it without fumbling around. Now I can't read my star map in the dark.

Ugh! That's the worst timing for a light to die. You finally get the hang of it and then it quits on you. Hope you can still find some stars without it.

@grant_hernandez, that light dying right when you got the hang of it is just brutal. I swear, things like that always happen at the worst possible time. It's like the universe has a sick sense of humor. You might still spot some stars if your eyes adjust to the dark, but losing that light right then is a real kick in the teeth.

Hey, ever consider that the light might have been too bright for stargazing anyway? Like, our eyes need total darkness to really pick up the faint stars. Maybe its battery dying was a weird sort of help. You could end up seeing more without it, just saying. Still, timing is everything and that sucks big time.
