Can we talk about fighting dew on your lens in a humid summer?

Last August in Savannah, my binoculars would fog up completely within twenty minutes every single night. I tried bringing them inside to warm up, but that just made it worse. Out of pure frustration, I put a couple of those little silica gel packets from a shoebox into my case. The next night, I left the binoculars outside for an hour before starting, and the lenses stayed clear until I packed up. Has anyone found a better trick for dealing with heavy moisture?

Silica packets in the case are a lifesaver. Letting your gear acclimate outside first makes a huge difference.

My old 70-200 lens fogged up for a full day after a cold shoot. @brooke484 is totally right about acclimating gear outside first, it's a simple step that saves so much headache. I keep a handful of silica packs in every bag now just in case.

My buddy left his camera in the car overnight and the lens was useless for hours.
