Warning: I spent $80 on a fancy automatic coop door and it was a total waste because my old manual one never failed and I'm always up at dawn anyway.
Everyone says they're a must-have for convenience, but after it jammed twice in the cold last winter and I had to go out and fix it, I realized I was just paying for a problem I never had, so has anyone else ditched theirs and gone back to the basics?

Ever notice how we keep inventing solutions for problems that don't exist? My kitchen is full of single-use gadgets that just make more clutter. Sometimes the old, simple way is just more reliable.
