Warning: I spent $80 on a fancy automatic coop door and it was a total waste because my old manual one never failed and I'm always up at dawn anyway.

Everyone says they're a must-have for convenience, but after it jammed twice in the cold last winter and I had to go out and fix it, I realized I was just paying for a problem I never had, so has anyone else ditched theirs and gone back to the basics?

Ha I feel that. I bought a fancy egg skelter and now it just mocks me every morning when I grab eggs straight from the carton.
