TIL my 'secure' coop latch wasn't secure at all after a raccoon got in last night.

The metal hasp was just screwed into the wood with short screws, and the whole thing got ripped right off (the raccoon got one of my Buff Orpingtons, sadly). What's the strongest latch setup you all actually trust?

Man, my buddy's whole door got ripped off like that once.

Wait, the whole door? Like the actual door came off the coop? That's nuts, I can't even imagine what kind of wind or critter could do that. Your buddy must have been pretty shook up finding that.
