Spent $230 on a fancy incubator, went back to my $40 one
I figured the big digital one with auto turn would be better but it cooked 11 of 14 eggs in May. The cheap styrofoam one with the manual turner I bought from Tractor Supply in 2021 never fails me. Humidity sensor was off by 15% on the expensive unit, caught it with a $8 hydrometer from Amazon. Anyone else had better luck with the basic models or did I just get a lemon?

The expensive one probably just needed calibration out of the box, lots of digital units ship off but that's a quick fix instead of a reason to trash the whole thing. Auto turn alone should save you more than 3 eggs over a season, and you can't put a price on not babysitting the tray every morning. Sounds more like you got one bad unit, not that the tech itself is worthless.
