Rant: I used to think my hens needed a full coop clean every single week
I was at the county fair in Salem last fall and got talking to an old-timer with some prize-winning birds. He asked about my routine and just shook his head when I told him. He said, 'You're stressing them out for no good reason. A deep clean once a month is plenty if you keep up with the droppings board.' I switched to his method, just scraping the board daily, and my girls are way calmer. Has anyone else found less cleaning is actually better?
