That kind of unsolicited advice is everywhere these days. It's like people can't just let you buy chicken feed without making it a whole moral thing. Happens at the hardware store, the grocery store, you name it. Everyone's suddenly an expert on your life choices based on one item in your cart.

That Bakersfield guy sounds like a real piece of work. I mean, markm27 is right, it's wild how people turn a feed choice into a whole judgment on your character. Maybe it's just me, but I'd rather trust my own research over some random person in an aisle.

So have you tried just smiling and nodding at them, then doing exactly what you wanted anyway? I had a guy at the feed store try to tell me I was ruining my chickens' health with my brand of scratch, and I just said "cool, I'll look into that" and walked off.
