My neighbor swore by feeding chickens cracked corn all winter and I thought he was nuts
Old guy down the street with 30 chickens told me to skip the layer feed in December and just give them cracked corn mixed with hot water. I figured he was just being cheap but tried it during that cold snap in January. Birds huddled around the warm mash like it was a campfire and they kept laying through the whole freeze. Anyone else have a weird winter feeding trick that actually worked?
