My neighbor called my chickens 'tiny dinosaurs' and it changed how I see them
He was watching them hunt bugs and said, 'They're just little velociraptors with feathers, man.' Now every time they do that head-tilt thing before they peck, I can't unsee it. Anyone else have a moment that totally shifted your view of your flock?

My old tomcat does that, and it always makes my skin crawl.

Oh yeah, that stare. My cat does it right before she knocks my coffee mug off the table. It's like she's calculating the exact angle for maximum splash damage.
