I thought the whole 'chicken swing' thing was silly, but my broody hen snapped out of it in two days after I hung one up.

Remember my cousin's weird rooster that would only eat if you put a red ball in his pen. Birds are just odd little creatures.

The chicken swing trick is no joke. My barred rock was broody for a week until I put a mirror in the coop. @lee.diana has a point about those, it gave her something else to focus on besides sitting. She was back to normal in three days flat. Sometimes you just have to break their routine with something new.
