Had a vet tech warn me about mite season and I'm glad she did
I was picking up feed at Tractor Supply in Salem last week and one of the vet techs there mentioned that mites are way worse this fall because of the warm snap we had. She said she's seen three cases this month alone where coops that looked clean on the surface were crawling with northern fowl mites. I checked my roosts that night and found a few on the ends near the cracks, which I'd never thought to look at. Has anyone else had luck with diatomaceous earth vs. the permethrin spray for an active infestation?
