Gave my hens layer pellets for a year and the eggshells stayed paper thin
Back in March I cracked a fresh egg into the pan and the shell folded in my hand like a napkin. A neighbor at the feed store in Modesto asked if I was putting out any crushed oyster shell, and I admitted I had been skipping it since the pellets said they had calcium in them. Do you keep a separate dish of oyster shell out all the time or just mix it into their feed?
