Had to pick between the fire road and the ridge trail at sunrise last week
I went with the ridge trail because my buddy said the views were better but I ended up slipping on wet rock for a solid half mile and my knee still hurts, has anyone else regretted a route choice because you trusted someone's advice over the map?

Oh man, that's rough - I feel for you, @fiona332. It's like those "shortcuts" always end up being the longest, wettest way there.

Ugh I've definitely been there. Picking the scenic route on someone else's say-so is a gamble every time. My rule lately is stick to the map if the weather's been wet, people always forget to mention the slippery parts.
