Drove 6 hours to a trailhead and found the parking lot FULL at 5 AM

I planned this hike on the Long Trail for weeks. Checked the AllTrails app the night before and it said the lot had 40 spots. Got there at 4:45 AM and every single spot was taken. Turns out the data on the app was from 2020 and they paved over half the lot since then. I ended up parking a mile down a dirt road and walking in. Has anyone else run into trailhead parking data that's totally outdated?

Oh man this hits home. I drove all the way to a trail in the White Mountains last fall, same deal - the app said the lot could fit like 60 cars but when I got there it was maybe 30 and every single spot was full by 6 AM. I mean I get that trails get more popular but it's crazy how the apps just don't update that stuff. I ended up parking on some random side road and hiking an extra mile and a half on pavement before I even hit the trail. It's like you have to plan for the parking situation to be way worse than what the internet tells you.

Ugh that's brutal, I feel your pain on outdated app data ruining a whole trip.
