Cut my base weight by 9 pounds in 4 months just by weighing every single thing that went in my pack
Started at 34 lbs for a 3 night loop in the Catskills back in March. Went out this weekend at 25 and it felt like a totally different trip. Nothing fancy, no big gear swap. I literally just put everything on a kitchen scale, wrote the number on a sticky note, and stopped lying to myself about how much my stuff weighed. Turns out my old shelter, my cook kit, and a water filter I never used were the whole problem. What did you drop first when you actually started weighing your kit?
