Wasted $800 on a 14-month training course, was it worth the paper?
I signed up for that FAA avionics technician training program last January, the one that promised job placement and certifications. Spent $800 and 14 months of my weekends, thought it would cover the new digital bus systems everyone's hiring for. Turns out half the curriculum was outdated resistor logic and the hands-on hours were on boards from the 90s. My crew supervisor at the shop laughed when he saw my cert, said the real learning happens on the line anyway. Now I'm wondering if I should've just bought a used test bench and watched YouTube instead. Anyone else dump cash into a course that didn't match what the field actually needs, or am I the only sucker here?
