Seriously, I saw a thing where they said it's never just the wire. It's usually a whole mess of other stuff they have to fix first.

Oh man, I get it. Sometimes it IS just the wire. You chase a dozen ghosts, check every connector, and the gremlin is a single broken strand hiding in plain sight. Those are the worst fixes because you feel like you should have seen it day one. Makes that final find a mix of pure relief and total annoyance.
