Maybe it's just me but I think we overcomplicate some of these intermittent faults
I had a head-scratcher on a G1000 system last week where the PFD would randomly blank for about two seconds. Everyone in the shop was talking about pulling the whole LRU and sending it out, which is a huge job. I decided to just start at the connectors, which felt too simple. After checking every pin on the main avionics rack connector, I found one that was just slightly out of spec for tension. It took me almost eight hours of methodical checking to find it, but the fix was just re-seating the pin. Has anyone else had a 'big' problem turn out to be a tiny connector issue that ate up your whole day?

Almost eight hours of methodical checking" is the real story here. Did you have a hunch it was the connector from the start, or were you just going through the motions?

Methodical checking" sounds like you just got lucky after ruling everything else out.
