Cleaned out my toolbox and found 37 different types of wire crimp connectors.

I was doing a full clean and sort in the hangar today. When I laid them all out on the bench, I just stared at it. I knew I had a lot, but seeing that exact number really hit me. It's not just the different sizes, but all the special ones for specific airframes or old gear we don't even use anymore. I guess I've been holding onto some of these 'just in case' for over a decade. How do you guys handle old connector stock? Do you keep a small museum like me, or do you have a hard rule to toss stuff after a certain number of years?

Feel your pain... I have a whole drawer of old connectors that I can't seem to throw out. There's always that nagging feeling you'll need one right after you toss it. My shop is basically a parts library for obsolete gear at this point.

Oh man, you are singing my song! My garage has a whole bin labeled "mystery cables" that is basically a black hole. I swear the second I finally decide to clean it out, some ancient gadget will rise from the dead and demand a specific cord. It's a sickness, but at least we're not alone!

That's so true, @ellis.victor. It feels like we're all just building little tech support museums in our homes. We keep this stuff because the fear of needing it later is stronger than the desire for a clean drawer. It's a weird kind of modern hoarding.
