Bought a $180 'avionics test lead kit' from a random site and half the pins were crimped wrong
So I'm doing a harness repair on a King Air last week and I needed a few oddball leads for the connector pins, and I figured I'd save the shop some cash by ordering a kit online instead of going through our normal supplier. $180 later, the box shows up and right away the wire gauge looks off on three of the leads. I went to crimp one onto a size 20 contact and the pin just slid right through, the crimp barrel was way too loose. Turns out half the kit was assembled with the wrong dies, and the vendor's return policy said 'all sales final on electrical components.' I'm out $180 of my own money because I didn't want to wait two days for the right part. Has anyone found a reliable source for loose contacts and leads that won't ghost you when something's built wrong?
