A stray washer almost cost us a whole day on a Cessna 172 in Denver

Found it wedged under a D-sub connector after chasing a phantom short for two hours... anyone got a better trick for keeping small parts contained in tight spaces?

Magnetic tray is a lifesaver. Lost a screw in a panel once, never again.

Seriously, the cheap ones are game changers. I got a bright orange one so I can spot it under my car when I'm working. It holds all the little bolts from the air filter housing so they don't vanish into the gravel.
