PSA: paid $150 extra for enclosed transport from Phoenix to Denver and the car showed up dirtier than when it left
So I finally pulled the trigger on moving my 2016 Civic from Phoenix up to Denver for a new job, and after getting like 9 quotes I went with the nicer option, $950 for enclosed instead of around $800 for open. The whole pitch was no road grime, no rock chips, door to door care. Car arrives 4 days late first off, which I sort of expected with auto transport, but then I walk up and the thing is covered in a layer of brown dust like it sat in a field somewhere. Driver says it was from the rail yard they staged at before the final leg, which sounds like a load of crap to me. I paid for a service I basically did not get and all I got back was a $50 credit after going back and forth with the broker for a week. Live and learn I guess, next time I am just doing open transport and saving the cash for a real detail when it lands. Has anyone actually gotten an enclosed carrier that kept the car spotless, or is that whole thing kind of a scam?
