Chose open transport over enclosed for my Honda to Salt Lake, would do it again
Everyone on here acts like enclosed is the only way to go, but I picked open transport for my 2013 Civic from San Diego to Salt Lake City and saved about $700. The car showed up with a little road dust and one tiny rock chip on the hood, nothing a wash and $20 of touch up paint couldn't fix. Did I just get lucky, or are people paying way too much for enclosed when open works fine?
Not luck at all, this is how it works for most normal cars. People on here push enclosed because it sounds fancy, but a Civic is not a classic car and a little dust washes off. Rock chips happen on the road no matter what you pick, and $700 saved buys a lot of touch up paint. Open transport moves way more cars than enclosed does, so the odds are in your favor. Spending extra to protect a daily driver from dust never made sense to me.
