Question about the moving guy who "drove it himself" to save me $600
Last month I bought a truck from a guy in Phoenix and needed it shipped to me near Boise, so a family friend swore his buddy could do it cheaper than a real carrier. The buddy shows up 4 days late in a rental car, no trailer, and says the truck is "still in Phoenix because of some title thing" which made zero sense. Turns out he never booked a carrier at all and just pocketed my $600 deposit, then tried to sell me on waiting another week. I got my money back after a lot of yelling and ended up paying $1,100 to an actual broker who had the truck on a hauler within 48 hours. Has anyone else dealt with a middleman who promises door to door and then stalls out with weird excuses?
