Pro tip: picked open vs enclosed for my move from Phoenix to Denver and I'm still mad about it
Last spring I had to get my Forester from Phoenix up to Denver and I went back and forth between an open carrier quote at $750 and an enclosed one at $1,400. I picked enclosed since I figured the desert dust and road junk would be worse on a 800 mile run, then the driver showed up 2 parts of a day late and the car still had a fine grit film all over it anyway. My cousin told me "you paid double for a covered trailer and still washed it twice" and honestly he wasn't wrong. Has anyone actually seen a real difference between open and enclosed on a route this short, or did I just burn $650 for nothing?
