Overheard a dispatcher say open decks are 20% faster, so I tried one for my sedan
I was waiting at a pickup lot in Phoenix and caught a dispatcher telling a driver that enclosed carriers add 2 to 3 days to every route because they wait for partial loads. My last trip used enclosed shipping from Tucson to Seattle and it took 11 days total, which drove me nuts. So this time I booked open transport for my 2015 Civic and it got picked up in 2 days, delivered in 6. The car had a few new bug splatters and some light dust, but nothing a $8 car wash fixed. Has anyone else seen that big a time gap between open and enclosed, or do the weather risks outweigh the speed for you?
