Wasted $80 on a cheap paint booth filter kit off Amazon

I figured I'd save a few bucks last month and grabbed a generic filter kit for my Downdraft booth. First job with it was a pearl white Honda Accord, and by the end I had dust specs all through the clear. Took me an extra 4 hours to wet sand and buff it out. Has anyone else had a bad experience with those no-name booth filters?

Exactly, that pearl white will show every single speck. I learned that lesson the hard way too, but with a dark blue metallic. The cheap filters just don't trap the fine dust like the real ones do, and they clog up way faster so the airflow drops off even sooner. I spent a whole Saturday sanding out trash from a whole car I sprayed. Now I just buy the expensive filters in bulk from a proper supplier, it's not worth the headache to save twenty bucks.

Bet you it was your prep work or gun setup not the filters. Ive run those cheap ones for years and never had trash issues unless I was rushing the booth prep.
