Two-part epoxy vs single stage on that classic Chevelle, I picked wrong

I had a 68 Chevelle in my garage last month, customer wanted a deep black that pops. I stood there with two options, the two-part epoxy for a rock solid base or the single stage for that old school wet look. I went with the single stage because it matched what the owner remembered from his dad's car. Big mistake, it took 4 times longer to buff out and I had to redo a door when dust landed in it. Anyone else have a horror story choosing single stage over a more forgiving system?

Wow, four times on the buff job? That's rough, I would've lost my mind by the second pass. Dust in a door is the kind of thing that makes you want to just sell the car and take up gardening. I respect the sentimental choice, but man, that's a pricey memory.
