The old painter who told me to slow down on primer finally made sense
Back in March I was working a rear quarter panel on a 2017 F-150 at my shop in Tulsa, and this retired guy, Dennis, who used to paint for a dealership, kept telling me I was laying primer too fast. I brushed him off because I'd been doing collision work for 9 years, but sure enough I got solvent pop on a repair I had to redo twice. Cost me almost $400 in materials and an extra day of labor. Has anyone else had to eat a job because they ignored a seasoned tech's advice about flash times?

The whole "flash times" thing bit me too, had a guy at the shop tell me to wait longer between coats and I blew him off. Ended up with the same solvent pop mess and had to sand it all back down. Now I just set a timer on my phone and walk away, saves me way more time than redoing a panel.
