That painter in Phoenix showed me a simple tape trick I can't stop using
Stopped by a buddy's booth in Phoenix last month to grab some primer and he had this roll of 3M fine line tape sitting in a cup of water. I asked what he was doing and he said dipping the tape before laying it on curves keeps it from lifting on factory edges. Tried it on a 2018 Civic quarter panel repair with some nasty body lines and it hugged the contour way better than dry tape. Saves me from burnishing every single edge and I estimate it cut my taping time on that job by maybe 20 minutes. Anyone else ever wet their tape like that or is this just a desert thing?
