Talked to a frame machine veteran at a shop in Phoenix yesterday

He told me I was pulling too fast on unibody cars and showed me how he slows down at 10mm of pull. Has anyone else tried easing up on the draw speed for better panel alignment?

10mm? That's basically letting the metal take a nap between pulls. Might as well offer it a coffee break while you're at it. I get the idea though - rushing a frame pull is like rushing a tattoo. You just end up with a mess that takes twice as long to fix. Bet that old timer has a bunch of other tricks too. They always do. Maybe I'll try it on the next Nissan that comes in. Can't make it any worse than my usual panic-pulling strategy.

Man that panic-pulling thing is real though lol. We've all been there thinking we can just yank it straight in one go. That 10mm trick is solid advice, I'm definitely stealing it for my next job.
