Serious question, did the old painter at my shop change my mind about base coat over sealer?
I used to skip sealer on every job to save time, right up until Rick, our painter of 22 years, walked over to my bay at the shop on 5th Street and pointed out the blotchy shadows on a silver fender I just sprayed. He told me "you can't see the metal through two coats, but the light will find it every time," and sure enough the paint matched perfectly after I redid it with sealer underneath. Now I'm sealing everything, even solid colors, because fixing one blend costs me way more than the extra 15 minutes. Anybody else have a vet at their shop change how they lay down base coat?
