Rant: wasted a whole afternoon on a cheap paint gun from Harbor Freight
Picked up one of those purple $40 HVLP guns for a side job and it clogged 4 times before lunch, so after dumping $60 in paint down the drain I finally borrowed my buddy's Devilbiss and finished the whole bumper in 20 minutes.

Why do people keep buying those things expecting anything but frustration?

I read an article just the other day talking about how these gadgets are often designed to fail after a year or two on purpose. It said the companies make more money from replacements than from making something that lasts. So the people buying them aren't really expecting quality, they're just hoping for a bargain. And like you said, @hugo_cooper, frustration is about all they get in return.
