Overheard a kid at the body shop say my weld looked like a 'video game glitch'
I was smoothing out a quarter panel on a 2017 Civic the other day (you know, the usual rust repair) and this 10-year-old kid walks by with his dad. He points at my line of tack welds and says, 'Dad, that looks like a glitch in a video game.' I couldn't even be mad, honestly. It got me thinking about how we all see imperfections through different eyes, you know? A customer might call it sloppy, but a game kid calls it a glitch. Has anyone else had a random bystander describe your work in a way that made you stop and laugh?

Honestly I used to cringe at my tack lines too but that kid changed how I see them.

Ever notice how kids just see the messy part as proof you actually tried something? @blair_davis that's exactly what flipped the switch for me too. My advice is to keep a few of your early pieces around to remind yourself how far you've come.
