My old shop lead in Bakersfield said to stop sanding filler with 80 grit, and he was dead right
I spent 6 months at a shop off Chester Ave in Bakersfield and my lead kept telling me to quit hogging filler down with 80 grit and step up to 180 before primer. I ignored him until I sprayed a door and watched the scratches swell up through the sealer a week later, so I stripped it and did it his way. How many of you learned grit steps the hard way instead of listening the first time?

80 grit cuts fine under a good epoxy sealer, but you gotta know when to stop.
