Just realized the fix I did on my neighbor's truck bumper is still solid after six months
He mentioned it when we chatted at the gas station. Feels good to know the work holds up.

What did you even use to fix it? My uncle had a jeep where the passenger door wouldn't stay shut, so he just looped a ratchet strap around the whole cab and hooked it to the roll bar inside. That thing held for like three years, rain and snow and everything, until he finally sold it. Some of those janky fixes outlast the actual car parts, lol.

Three years with a ratchet strap holding the door shut? How bad could that door have been that it needed a full strap setup. Was it actually flying open on turns or just not latching perfect. Seems like a small bolt or a clip could have fixed it for five bucks. Sometimes people go way over the top when a simple tweak would do the job. That strap fix is more about the story than the actual problem.
