I had a paint reaction on a 2018 F-150 hood that looked like orange peel on steroids

I was spraying the final clear coat in my shop in Austin, and the surface started to wrinkle up like crazy right away. I had cleaned the panel with a wax and grease remover, but I guess some silicone from a previous detail was still there. I had to stop, sand the whole mess down with 400 grit, and redo the base and clear. Has anyone else had a reaction that bad from leftover contamination?

That sounds more like uncured clear to me.

Yeah, "uncured clear" is exactly what I was thinking. I had that happen on a tabletop I finished last year. The top layer stayed tacky for weeks because my shop was too cold. Had to strip it and start over.
